Get ready to ho-ho-hop into the holiday spirit as SantaCon Elizabeth City comes to Downtown on December 2, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm! This first of what is expected to be an annual event promises a day filled with festive cheer, merry mischief, and holiday magic that you won’t want to miss.
Don your Santa outfits and jingle bells (or Mrs. Claus, reindeer, or elf outfits) and gather as a group in Downtown Elizabeth City (or anywhere across the City where Santas are wont to gather) for a jolly good time! Do a little Bar Ho-Ho-Hopping and a little retail S-Ho-Ho-Hopping or just hang out working on your Naughty & Nice Lists. It’s a great opportunity to connect with friends, meet new people, and embrace the holiday spirit.
SantaCon Elizabeth City is an extraordinary holiday celebration that brings together Santa enthusiasts, elves, reindeer, and all lovers of Christmas in one joyous gathering. The event, known for its iconic red and white attire, offers participants a unique opportunity to spread holiday joy while enjoying a host of activities, including but not limited to:
- Santa Crawl: Participants may embark on a go-at-your-own-pace merry adventure as they visit some of the city’s favorite holiday decorated bars and restaurants, spreading holiday cheer along the way.
- Community Giving: SantaCon Elizabeth City is all about giving back to the community. Participants are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy and/or make a donation to the Elizabeth City Police Departments Santa Cop program, in its 19th year of providing Merrier Christmases to children and families in our community. Let’s make the holidays brighter for those in need. (Not required for participation.)
- Festive Music: Dance to the sounds of holiday music and enjoy the lively atmosphere as you celebrate the season.
- Photo Opportunities: Capture memorable moments with your friends and fellow Santas at various designated photo spots throughout the event.
- Hot Cocoa Crawl: Participate in Elizabeth City’s annual Hot Cocoa Crawl to enjoy many varieties of (spiked and non-spiked) hot cocoa and hot cocoa related items in the Hot Cocoa Capital of the World.
- Best Santa Practices: Compare your Naughty and Nice lists with other Santas and chat about North Pole “Holiday Best Practices.”
- Bed & Breakfast Tour: Visit five quaint and festively decorated local Bed and Breakfasts during their bi-annual B&B Open House and Tour Event (2:00-5:00 pm).
SantaCon Elizabeth City is a family-friendly event, and participants of all ages are encouraged to join in the fun. Don’t be a Grinch and miss out on this unforgettable day of festivities! The event organizers are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. We invite ONLY well-behaved Santas and holiday characters to participate and have fun (but not too much fun). You do not have to be 21 to participate, but you DO have to be 21 to consume alcohol. All Alcohol Beverage Control rules and regulations and City ordinances regarding alcohol and public behavior will be in effect.
Elizabeth City’s holiday parade begins at 5:30 pm. All Santa’s will be required to vacate the parade route before 5:30 pm (Main Street / Water Street / Road Street / Ehringhaus Street).
