Local veterans from all six branches of the military are invited to share personal stories of their service to our nation on Thursday, November 9, 2023 by participating in the Veterans History Project, a Library of Congress initiative that collects, preserves and makes accessible the firsthand recollections of U.S. military veterans who served from World War I through more recent conflicts and peacekeeping missions.
An informational meeting to provide an overview of the project will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Currituck Maritime Museum, which is located at 1140 Village Lane In Corolla, North Carolina.
Veterans who are interested in participating in the project and sharing their stories will then have the opportunity to be interviewed about their experiences by Library of Congress staff members.
