If you jump off the Great Bridge Bypass at Hillcrest Parkway to avoid the tolls on the Va. 168 Chesapeake Expressway when headed south to the Outer Banks, then take note that there is a change to the traffic pattern this weekend.
Starting Friday at 9 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m., the second exit (8B) off the expressway onto Hillcrest Parkway East, along with the onramp from Hillcrest to the southbound expressway.
Travelers that use Hillcrest Parkway East to reach South Battlefield Boulevard will need to take the Hillcrest Parkway West exit (8A) that is used to access Target, Chik-Fila and other businesses in the Edinburgh North Shopping Center, and then turn left at the traffic light onto Hillcrest.
