Join the Kitty Hawk Woods Reserve Northern Site Manager for a one-mile guided hike through one of the largest tracts of bald cypress on the Outer Banks on Monday evening.
Come join in celebrating the Year of the Trail! All ages are welcome. The hike will start at Kitty Hawk Park, 900 W. Kitty Hawk Road, at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, October 30.
We may get lucky and hear the howl of a coyote or the hoot of an owl as we take an out-and-back hike across the connector boardwalk to the Birch Lane Trail.
Participants will learn about the Reserve, the plants and animals that are protected by it, and hopefully catch a glimpse of the critters that become lively at dusk.
