The Norfolk Airport Authority Board of Commissioners has approved staff’s recommendation to select ORF Hospitality Partners to begin negotiations on developing, managing and operating a hotel at Norfolk International Airport.
Members of ORF Hospitality Partners have a successful history of hotel development in Coastal Virginia with a current local portfolio that includes Marriott, Hilton, and IHG properties, according to a news release.
The Airport Authority goal with this project is to enhance ORF with an internationally branded, full-service airport hotel within walking distance and adjacent to the existing Departures Terminal building at the Greater Outer Banks’ closest international airport.
The hotel will serve as an important amenity to the traveling public and will have meeting spaces, restaurants, and other features expected by airport patrons.
As an air gateway feature for Norfolk and the region, the hotel will have an architectural expression and/or theme consistent with and enhancing the architecture of the terminal buildings and modern future design.
The hotel is expected to take 18-24 months to construct upon completion of design.
