Town of Duck seeks input on proposed stormwater solutions for five neighborhoods

March 9th, 2023

Last fall, the Town of Duck solicited feedback regarding stormwater impacts and experiences as part of the NC Division of Coastal Management’s (DCM) Resilient Coastal Communities Program (RCCP).

The town was awarded grant funding for the study, which was also conducted in Currituck, Dare and Hyde counties, and in Nags Head, Hatteras village, Ocracoke and the Town of Hertford.

Five residential neighborhoods in Duck have been identified that experience routine flooding from stormwater runoff.

Engineering firm VHB has provided a menu of potential solutions and now Duck residents and property owners have the opportunity to vote on the preferred options.

Click here to review the solutions. Then let the town know your preferred options, by clicking on this survey.

Responses will be collected until March 13.

The next open house on the RCCP will be on March 30, 2023 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Duck Town Hall.
