The Philadelphia Story, the Red Shoes and the Magnificent Seven are three movies that should be in every movie lover’s history of great movies.
Taking a deep dive into why the three movies in this year’s Film Series are classics, Dr. Chris Palestrant, Professor of Music Composition at ECSU, will offer his popular “peek behind the curtain” look at how the movies were made and some little known titillating tidbits.
Dr. Palestrant will Peek Behind the Curtain on Feburary 19, March 5 and March 19 at 4:00 p.m. Movies will be screened at 4:30 at R/C Kill Devil Hills Movies 10, 1800 N. Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills.

Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 Japanese film Seven Samurai is reimagined in what is arguably one of the best westerns ever filmed. Directed by John Sturges, the Magnificent Seven is an action-packed thriller that never loses sight of the humanity of the main characters.
