Another national chain says it wants to open a location in northeastern North Carolina in the next year, as an engineering firm has submitted plans to the City of Elizabeth City for a Texas Roadhouse.

The Daily Advance reports The Timmons Group has presented the proposal to the city’s Technical Review Committee for an 8,000 square foot, 240-seat restaurant. Moseley Real Estate Advisors of Charlotte is the developer.

The proposed location is in the Tanglewood section of Elizabeth City at 3720 Patrick Way, near the corner of Halstead Boulevard Extended and Mount Everest South. A 7-11 and Aldi are located at the same intersection.

Texas Roadhouse has 602 locations in the U.S. and internationally, including Chesapeake, Virginia Beach and Suffolk, and is known “for its hand-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone ribs, made-from-scratch sides, and fresh-baked bread” their website states.

The company says their restaurants average 5,000 guests a week, one of the highest rates in the industry, with steaks accounting for 44 percent of the menu.
