City Manager Montre’ Freeman announced a new initiative earlier this month through Elizabeth City’s government called “Transacting To Transform”.
Freeman shared more details in latest edition of Manager’s Corner, published January 13:
In looking at what I wanted my administration to represent and how I can create an initiative that Team Elizabeth City can buy into that pushes economic development, sets a tone and direction for the new course that this council is charting, all while managing the responsibilities of this city and goal setting for our directorship, I’ve created the Transacting To Transform Initiative.
My administration will use this initiative as a way to continue to provide excellent service to the citizens of Elizabeth City and this council. This initiative will also serve as the catalyst for pushing economic development in our city.
We will approach every service and challenge with the mantra and thought process of Transacting To Transform our City into something spectacular!
One that’s financially sound, a workforce that is paid competitive wages, a workforce that serves at an exemplary level consistently. We will only engage in Transactions that raises the bar of daily expectations.
If you have not guessed it, Transacting To Transform will be the title of the 2023-2024 Budget. This is how I will approach the budget and how I will continue to serve you all.
The initiative kicked off on Friday, January 6th, when we highlighted Sentara Hospital. My goal is to highlight a business or organization every 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. We will hold a drawing every 2nd Friday to determine which small business will be highlighted on the 3rd Friday.
The Freeman Administration is excited to serve you and lead the way as we Transact To Transform.
Also on Friday, Freeman announced the next featured organization:
