Currituck County property owner access permits are in the mail

Check your mailbox Currituck County property owners, as the county is now in the process of mailing new access permits that will be valid for 2023 and 2024.

The non-adhesive decals can be used in the same way as the solid waste decal that was previously issued, and can be transferred from one vehicle to another.

Display the permit on the driver’s side, lower corner of the windshield in order to utilize the trash and recycling centers, park on the four-wheel drive beach and re-enter designated areas after an emergency evacuation.

Stickers for mainland property owners will be blue, while Currituck Outer Banks property owners will receive red permits. Those who own property on both the mainland and Outer Banks will get red stickers.

Only two permits will be issued per property, with no exceptions. Replacement stickers cost $75 each.

If you do not receive your permits by January 31, 2023, contact the Currituck County Manager’s office at (252) 232-2075. The 2020-22 permit will be valid through January 31, 2023.
