For the past eight years, a local group of friends has been gathering to play, learn and explore together in the abundance of natural areas around the Outer Banks.
These children have been raised in these places, visiting each week and getting to know them well.
With each visit to the woods and the sand dunes they learn a little bit more about it; and with each passing season they become more aware of its changes and the impact visitors have on these natural environments.
As they have grown, they have met with conservationists, scientists, and park rangers to deepen their understanding.
This past spring, these children decided to work together to brainstorm, plan, write, film and edit short videos that share their knowledge of these treasured sites with visitors.
They hope that by sharing their intimate observations with others, they are doing their part to help protect the environment and allow everyone to appreciate it more.
It is their hope that these videos will reach more people interested in visiting these sites and learn to love it and protect it like these children are.
