Park Service campgrounds at Frisco, Cape Point closed for season; Oregon Inlet, Ocracoke open year-round

November 29th, 2022

Two of Cape Hatteras National Seashore’s campgrounds, Cape Point and Frisco, closed for the season on Monday, November 28.

However, the  other two campgrounds operated by the National Park Service at Oregon Inlet and Ocracoke will continue to stay open year-round.

The Ocracoke Campground, which has 136 sites, used to also close after Thanksgiving week until it switched to year-round operations in 2020, while the Oregon Inlet Campground, which has 120 sites, will also remain open all year, after extending its season in 2019.

Reservations and campsite payments can be made online at www.recreation.gov for both the Oregon Inlet and Ocracoke campgrounds. Cape Point Campground and Frisco Campground will reopen to campers in the spring of 2023.
