November 28th, 2022

Though there are growing concerns around travel spending, the near-term outlook is still positive, reports Destination Analysts.

More than 82 percent of Americans say they have existing travel plans, with more than 30 percent of them with December travel plans (up from 27 percent in 2021).

Excitement for leisure travel during the next year also remains high. More than 80 percent of travelers say they are excited about travel in the next 12 months, up from September.

Travelers expect to take, on average, 3 leisure trips in the next 12 months. Family trips, romantic getaways and girlfriend trips are the top trip types that American travelers are excited to take.

Travel planning windows remain shorter than they have been historically. The average planning window for a domestic, leisure trip of a week or more is 11.7 weeks. More than one third of travelers plan in advance less than 9 weeks.
