Outer Banks Medical Group continues on path to fully restore primary care services in Manteo

October 4th, 2022

The Outer Banks Medical Group has announced they continue to contact patients from the Family Medicine – Manteo waitlist to set up appointments with one of the new providers in order to fully restore, and expand, access to primary care services.

More from an email sent Monday:

To date, we have re-established care for more than 300 patients who were on the waitlist thanks to the arrival of Dr. David Worthen in Manteo in July and Dr. Mark Worthen in Nags Head in September.

We are also pleased to announce that Family Medicine-Manteo will once again have a full complement of providers when Dr. Erin Baker arrives at the clinic in early November, though it will take time to fully develop her patient panel.  Marina Turner, FNP, will also begin practicing in early November at the clinic in Nags Head.

Our team continues to call patients from the waitlist. Beginning this week (Oct. 3) we will start scheduling appointments for Dr. Baker or Marina Turner, FNP, based on the patient’s choice.

As we work to restore and expand access to primary care, we are pleased to announce that the Primary Care Access phone line will remain open to all local residents who are looking for a primary care provider.

The number to call for assistance finding a primary care provider is 252-449-4540.  This number is set up to receive voicemail only and callers who leave a message will receive a return phone call within three business days.

The Outer Banks Hospital and Medical Group continues to recruit for additional primary care, oncology, cardiology and hospitalist medicine providers at multiple locations throughout Dare County.
