What do you do to attract people to the beach in the off-season? Turn them into pirates of course! Learn how the Dare County Tourism Bureau created an event that included the entire Outer Banks in a week of costume contests, cook-outs, and fun-filled mayhem.
The Dare County Library Adult Speakers Series will welcome Tama Creef, an archivist at the Outer Banks History Center, where she has worked for the past 15 years. She is a generalist in the topic of local history of the Outer Banks.
The event will be presented in-person at the Kill Devil Hills Library Meeting Room, 400 Mustian Street, on Tuesday, September 20, starting at noon, or you can attend via Zoom.
Registration is required to attend this free programming event as in-person space is limited. Available to Dare County cardholders, 18 years and older. You can register for the Zoom option up to 1 hour before the event.
A link to the Zoom presentation and any helpful handouts will be sent via email within 24 hours of the event from updates@info.darecountync.gov. If you do not see the email in your inbox, please check your Spam Box. Programs are not recorded.
For assistance, please contact the Kill Devil Hills Library, weekdays 9am to 5pm at (252) 441-4331.
