Christmas in Manteo is truly one of the most wonderful times of year. This year will be even more special with a visit to the Outer Banks by the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.

The Town of Manteo is partnering with the U.S. Forest Service and Fort Raleigh National Historic Site to host the 78-foot-tall Red Spruce tree selected from the Pisgah National Forest in the North Carolina mountains.

The national forests in North Carolina and nonprofit partner Choose Outdoors, along with presenting sponsor 84 Lumber, recently announced the 2022 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree tour will begin November 5 in the Town of Murphy.

A total of 15 stops have been scheduled across North Carolina from the mountains to the sea over the course of two weeks, concluding in Manteo on Sunday, November 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Fort Raleigh.

Track the tree along its journey from the Pisgah National Forest to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building in real-time online at capitoltreetracker.com.

More details on the visit will be announced soon.
