“I’m especially excited to be leading the initiative to improve and modernize the Vacation Rental Act,” Malarney said. “This fall, I anticipate convening an advisory committee to assist in identifying current issues and later drafting legislation to update this 20-year-old legislation.”

“We are so fortunate to have a voice on the N.C. Real Estate Commission. Our market, both sales, and property management, is so unique to North Carolina and to the east coast.” OBAR President Doug Brindley said.

“Property management is such a vital part of the economy of the Outer Banks, and I am excited that we have a local voice to represent our needs concerning the outdated Vacation Rental Act and other related legislation,” Brindley said.
